Buzz marketing: Put your money where your mouth is
Imagine you want to increase your brand awareness and the attitude towards your brand, what would you do? TV advertising would probably advertise your brand to a wide group of people, lots of exposure, for lots of money!
But what if we just toke the cost of making a commercial and compared it with a simple but effective way, giving you the same exposure for just a dollar or so?!?
Let’s take my little corner of the internet for example: MarketingExtreme.nl
By spending lots and lots of money for a television ad I will probably get a lot of awareness (and traffic) towards my website, however I would have to spend all my savings and even more just to make the commercial, let alone paying the television stations.
On the other hand, I could ask my friend who is going to New York to streak for my website at a full subway station and giving my other friend, who is going to California, money to streak for my website before the golden gate bridge, showing the name of my website on their behinds.
With so many camera phones today, a lot of people will record the event, telling about it at home, to friends and uploading their videos on the internet. This extreme example of marketing could be just what you are looking for…
